Description
This super quick and easy green tahini sauce recipe will be your new go-to. Packed with herbs and lemon, it’s a zingy, delicious, creamy sauce that you can use in so many different ways. Plus, it’s vegan!
Ingredients
For the green tahini sauce –
- 1/2 cup tahini
- ½ cup chopped flat leaf parsley leaves
- 3 garlic cloves
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup water
Equipment –
- Food processor or blender
Instructions
- Blitz the ingredients. Get 1/2 cup of tahini, ½ cup of chopped parsley leaves, 3 garlic cloves, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of salt into the bowl of your food processor or blender. Blitz until a thick, green paste forms, about 2 minutes.
- Slowly drizzle in the water. Scrape down the sides of the food processor bowl, then with the motor running, slowly pour in the water until the consistency starts to change. It’ll turn into a thick, luscious sauce with the consistency of double cream. Taste, season with more salt if needed. Store in a covered container in the fridge for 1 week.
Notes
Mix up your herbs if you like – basil, coriander or even spinach work well in this recipe in place of the parsley – or use a combination of different herbs.
Switch up the consistency of the sauce by adding more or less water – adding more will result in a runnier sauce that works really well tossed through noodles or pasta, and a thicker sauce with less water has a more mayo-like consistency and works well as a dipping sauce.
